Alfredo Gonz\u00e1lez-Ruibal is an archaeologist with the Institute of Heritage Sciences of the Spanish National Research Council. His work focuses on the archaeology of the contemporary past and more specifically on the dark side of modernity: conflict, dictatorship and colonialism. He is the author of An Archaeology of the Contemporary Era<\/a><\/em> (Routledge, 2019) and managing editor of the Journal of Contemporary Archaeology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lori Khatchadourian is Associate Professor in the Departments of Near Eastern Studies and Anthropology at Cornell University. She is a co-founder of Caucasus Heritage Watch<\/a> and directs the Afterlife of Socialist Modernity<\/a> project. She is the author of Imperial Matter<\/a><\/em> (California, 2016) and “Life Extempore:<\/a> Trials of Ruination in the Twilight Zone of Soviet Industry” which appeared in Cultural Anthropology in 2022 (37:2).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Adam T. Smith is Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences in Anthropology at Cornell University and Director of the Cornell Institute for Archaeology and Material Studies. His a a co-founder of Project ArAGATS<\/a>, a two decade long archaeological research program in central Armenia. He is also a co-founder of Caucasus Heritage Watch<\/a>. His books include The Political Landscape<\/a><\/em> (California, 2003) and The Political Machine<\/a> <\/em>(Princeton, 2015).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
